The new Echo Show 5 sports a 5.5-inch touchscreen display. As per the company, it is great for watching music videos, movies, and shows from Prime Video and more with Alexa. The dimensions of the device are 148 x 86 x 73mm and it weighs 410 grams.
The device is powered by the MediaTek MT 8163 processor. For connectivity, it has support for Dual-band Wi-Fi but does not support ad-hoc Wi-Fi network connection. For better sound, it is equipped with a 1.65-inch built-in speaker and a 3.5 mm audio output for use with external speakers. It also has two microphones. It sports a 1MP HD camera along with a built-in camera shutter. The company says that the shutter can switch off the mic and camera with just a press of a button. The camera is capable of recording 720p videos.
It also has support for hands-free video calling to smartphones with Alexa app, Skype or other Echo devices. You can also use its ‘drop-in’ feature to check on your kids or parents, by connecting to Echo Show 5 via Alexa app.
