Display and Processor
Both Apple and Samsung have used a 4.7 inch display to the handsets, but the iPhone 6 is better as it uses Retina HD resolution of 1334×750 that translates to a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch, whereas the one on Galaxy Alpha with a 1280×720 pixel resolution features 312 ppi pixel density. Samsung uses the AMOLED display technology on the Galaxy Alpha that will consume the battery life, whereas the iPhone 6 is fitted with a IPS screen that will feature superior viewing angles and vibrant colors. iPhone 6 uses the 64 bit Apple A8 SoC that is twice energy efficient as the A7 cluster. It is rated to render 25 percent improved processor performance and 50 percent swifter graphic performance respectively. The Galaxy Alpha on the other hand employs an Exynos 5 Octa 5433 chipset with two quad-core clusters to handle the processing power effectively when needed. While the RAM used in the iPhone 6 is 1 GB (presumably), the Samsung phone employs 2 GB of RAM to deliver superior multi-tasking and lag-free performance.
Camera and Internal Storage
Apple iPhone 6 features an 8 MP iSight rear camera at its back with FHD 1080p video recording, faster phase detection auto focus, Slo-mo video recording up to 240 fps, better HDR, 43 MP panorama shots and True Tone dual LED flash for accurate color tone. There is a 1.2 MP FaceTime HD camera with Burst Mode, HDR and F2.2 aperture to capture 80 percent to more light. In comparison, the Galaxy Alpha makes use of a 12 MP primary camera with LED flash, auto focus and HDR. This is a step down from the 16 MP primary snapper that is a part of the flagship Samsung devices including the Galaxy S5. Also onboard is a 2.1 MP front facer that should match up with the quality of the FaceTime camera in iPhone 6. iPhone 6 is available with 16 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB of storage support that cannot be expanded as there is no micro SD card slot. Whereas, Galaxy Alpha comes with 32 GB storage space that cannot be expanded further as there is no expandable card slot.
Battery and Features
The battery in Apple phone will provide a backup of up to 24 hours of talk time and 14 hours of video playback respectively on 3G. On the other hand, the 1,860 mAh battery in the Samsung phone with Ultra Power Saving Mode is doubtful to last for a day under intense usage. On the software front, Galaxy Alpga is fueled by Android 4.4.4 KitKat, whereas the iPhone 6 is based on iOS 8. Otherwise, the Samsung phone comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner on the home button and a heart rate scanner at its back.

Both Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy Alpha have the potential to satisfy the needs of consumers with their specifications. Looking purely at specifications, the Apple phone has an upper hand with a better camera, increased storage capacity and superior battery. On the other hand, in terms of design and aesthetics, Galaxy Alpha wins the fight as it shorter, narrower, thinner and lighter. Finally, the deciding factor depends on the users based on whether they are an iOS or Android person.
