The BHIM iOS application is built upon the latest version 1.2 of the Android app. However, it supports only English and Hindi languages as of now. On the other hand, the Android version is additionally available in various regional languages like Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Oriya, and Kannada. The Government of India launched BHIM on 30 December 2016. Soon after its inception, the app has been pretty popular among the citizens. Till now, more than 125 lakh users are using the payment service, and the number is growing quite fast indeed. As the country is going through the demonetization phase, BHIM will play a significant role in making India cashless.
With the Bharat Interface for Money, you can send or receive money from anywhere in the country just with your handheld device. The BHIM app comes inbuilt with advanced features like QR-Code scanner and Aadhar integration to make transactions both straightforward and safe. Announcing the launch of BHIM iOS app, the MD, and CEO of National Payments Corporation of India (NCPI), Mr. A. P. Hota said, “The BHIM App will now cater to almost 100% smartphone users in the country with the launch of iOS platform. This will ensure wider acceptance for digital transactions among consumers across all sections.” BHIM currently supports more than 35 different banks which include State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, IDBI Bank, etc. Speaking of the transaction limits, you can currently send or receive a maximum of Rs. 10,000 at a time and Rs. 20,000 per day through the BHIM app.
