The View Image button made it very easy to view images in high resolution if you need to open full images often. Although you can still open high-resolution images in a new tab, it’s a bit more inconvenient now. If you don’t like this, then you can get back the “View Image” button in Chrome with the help of a Chrome extension. In this post, I am going to introduce a Chrome extension that will enable the View Image button in Google images and show you how to use it.
Add View Image button in Google Images
There are many Chrome extensions that let you re-enable this feature, but I have found View Image to be the most reliable. Most other extensions aren’t updated often so they break after Google makes changes to Google Images. View Image extension is frequently updated enough to rely on it. To use the extension, install it in Chrome and search anything on Google Images. Open an Image in the right panel and you’ll see a “View Image” button above the title next to the “Share” button.
Just click on this button and the image will open in a new tab at full resolution. You can click on it to zoom in and out. If you are interested in downloading the image, right-click and select the “Save image as” option.
Ending words
So far, I haven’t noticed any problems or glitches caused by this extension. However, I was unable to use it on Chromium-based other browsers like Opera that can use Chrome extensions. It seems it only works on the Chrome browser. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to let us know in the comments below.
