We have seen lots of Quad core device are flowing out from the different mobile phone manufacturers in the market and this device is a new addition to the list of Quad core device. The Gionee itself already have two quad core devices in its portfolio like Dream D1 and the GPad-G2, which were launched in the past couple of months, and now the Gionee Elife E3 is the company’s latest Quad core device. This is also a Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) device with dual standby and will be operating a latest Android version 4.2 (Jelly Bean).

Today we will be comparing the device with the company’s previous launched quad core device Gionee Dream D1 and Gionee Gpad 2 and the two most famous quad core device of the market Canvas A116 HD and Zen Ultraphone 701 HD.
Gionee Elife E3 Hands on Review
Camera: This Gionee’s device has got an 8MP camera with auto focus and with BSI Sensor and LED flash which is same as compared to all its opponents on paper as Gionee’s Dream D1 and Gpad 2, Micromax Canvas HD and Zen’s Ultraphone 701 all got the 8MP camera but providing a quality image will be a challenge here. The Gionee’s camera is capable of 720p HD video recording which is pretty ok. The device has a front camera of 2MP which is same as the Micromax canvas HD and Gionee Gpad 2 and superior to Gionee Dream D1 which has a VGA front but the Zen Ultraphone 701 wins the race here with 3.2MP camera. Processor and Battery: The Gionee ELife E3 share the same Mediatek Quad Core Processor MTK6589 with its opponent and this processor is based on the ARM Architecture of Cortex A7. This processor now looks quite out dated to me but as all the devices got the same processor the competition between them will be interesting and the battery life could become one of the deciding factor for the users. The Elife E3 got the battery power of 1800 mAh where as the Zen Ultraphone 701 got 2000mAh and Micromax canvas HD got 2100mAh. However, the E3 comes with a smaller battery of 1800mAh, the screen is also smaller so you can expect about the same run time between this devices. Display Type and Size: Today, we see the people are more attracted toward the big display device. And the Elife E3 has got a decent display size with 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display in comparision to Micromax’s A116 and Zen Ultraphone’s display of 5.0”with resolution 1280x720p. The UMI X2 was the device that has impressed me with its display as it had 5.0” with resolution of 1920x1080p. so if you are looking for a better display device then UMI X2 is the one that could become your option
Key Features and Specifications
Conclusion and Price
The technical specification of the device looks good but we didn’t see any new innovation coming out with the device and hence the device resides in the list of the quad core device. We were expecting some improved version of the processor but still the processor remains same as its predecessor and seems bit outdating now. we already have compared android devices having quad core processors in our previous post and this is an addition to your option. The phone is expected to be available in Red, Blue, and Graphite Black and White colors with the price tag of Rs.14,999 INR.
