Android TV is perhaps the last major platform which still lacks Google Assistant support. However today, Google announced that the Google Assistant is now making its way to Android TV.

The first Android TV to get Google Assistant support is Nvidia’s SHIELD TV. Google also adds that a number of Sony Bravia TVs will be getting this update as well. With Assistant on Android TV, users can now control their television with voice commands. This is an interesting improvement and the Android TV now rivals Apple TV which comes with Siri enabled remotes. To make use of Google Assistant on your Nvidia SHIELD TV, simply press the mic button of your remote after the TV starts.
