With a price of Rs. 31,999, the phone will see a great competition here. So lets find out some reasons to buy and not to buy Pixel 4a.

Reasons to Buy

OLED Display

The new Pixel 4a sports a 5.81-inch FHD+(1080 x 2340 pixels) OLED 18.5:9 aspect ratio display with HDR support. The screen also has Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Quality Camera

Like always, Google has paired the new phone with a quality camera setup. It has a 12.2MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, LED flash, Dual PD autofocus, OIS, and EIS. The camera also supports 4K video recording at 30fps, and 720p at up to 240fps.

There is an 8-megapixel front camera with AI-powered features. The rear camera also supports HDR+ with dual exposure controls, Portrait Mode, Night Sight with astrophotography mode from Pixel 4.

Stock Android UI

The smartphone was launched with Android 10 but it now comes with Android 11 out of the box. Being a Google phone, it has the benefit of latest software updates on time. The latest OS update also brings some new features like Chat Bubbles, Media Controls etc. to the UI.

Fast Charging

The phone is powered by a 3140mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. This can last for a day just like other phones, because of stock Android UI and Google’s new Adaptive Battery feature.

Stereo Speakers

Another good feature in the phone is its audio experience. It has Stereo speakers, and apart from that there are 2 microphones and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

Reasons NOT to Buy

Polycarbonate Body

The phone comes with a polycarbonate body. The device has a classic matte finish just like other Google phone, but it comes in Just Black color. At this price, plastic body phone is not very much impressive for most of the people.

Snapdragon 730G at Higher Price

The device is powered by Snapdragon 730G processor. The new 8nm manufacturing process based SoC with two powerful Cortex-A76-based Kryo 470 cores clocked at 2.2GHz is a power-efficient and good performer chipset. However, other brands like Realme and POCO are offering the same at almost half the price of Pixel 4a. Which is why this is a ‘reason not to buy’. At this price or even at a lesser price, you can easily get better chipsets like 765G in OnePlus Nord. Also, read | Pixel 4a Vs OnePlus Nord: Best Mid-range Phone of 2020

Price & Availability

The Google Pixel 4a is priced at Rs. 31,999 for the only model. However, it will be available at a special price of Rs. 29,999 during Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale which starts from October 16.

Wrapping Up

Pixel 4a is no doubt a good mid-range smartphone with the trust of Google. However, mid-range hardware which is available at almost half the price of Pixel 4a in some other phones, makes it somehow overpriced. Still, if you want Google branding, an impressive camera setup and a smooth UI experience, Pixel 4a is a good option.
