Honor 9 Specifications

The Huawei Honor 9 comes with a 5.15 inch full HD LTPS IPS LCD display with DCI-P3 colour space (also found on the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S8. The display is covered by a 2.5D curved glass. The display’s pixel density stands at ~428 PPI, which is quite good for a flagship smartphone.

Powering the Honor 9 is the latest Kirin 960 chipset, with 4 Cortex A73 cores and 4 Cortex A53 cores, in addition to a i6 co-processor. The graphics duties are handled by a Mali G71 GPU. In terms of memory, the phone comes with 4GB and 6GB RAM options. Internal storage options are 64GB and 128GB, with support for expansion using a microSD card. One of the main highlights of the Honor 9 is its cameras. The main cameras include two sensors on the back – 12 MP + 20 MP. The 12 MP sensor clicks photos in colour while the 20 MP sensor clicks photos in monochrome (black and white). The rear camera offers 2x optical zoom, portrait, bokeh and other common modes. They are assisted by a dual tone dual LED flash, Laser Autofocus and Phase Detection Autofocus. The rear cameras also support 4K video recording. On the front, you get an 8 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Other features of the Honor 9 include fingerprint sensor, hybrid dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, dual band Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC. The phone comes with a USB Type C port and is powered by a 3200 mAh battery.

Pricing and Availability

Huawei has launched the Honor 9 in China. It is up for orders from today and will be available on sale starting June 16th. The Honor 9 prices are:

4GB/64GB  – CNY 2299 – approx $340 or Rs. 21,8006GB/64GB  – CNY 2699 – approx $400 or Rs. 25,5806GB/128GB – CNY 2999 – approx $440 or Rs. 28,400
