HMD Global which holds the right to manufacture and sell Nokia smartphones has announced the launch of all-new Nokia phones beta labs on Twitter. The tweet was posted by the company’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas. He also mentioned that other handsets including Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will also join the list soon.

This will bring the new Android version to the device and its features like picture-in-picture, notification dots, autofill passwords etc. Moreover, the update will also bring the October month’s Android security patch to the device.

How to get Android Oreo on Nokia 8

In order to test the Android 8.0 Oreo update, Nokia 8 users will have to visit the Nokia phone beta labs page. After that, they need to sign up with their Google account. After signing up, user will have to provide details like their name, IMEI number and other things. Nokia 8 users will get Android 8.0 Oreo software update notification within 12 hours of registration. It is to be noted that before proceeding for the Android 8.0 Oreo beta, Nokia 8 users should back up their devices. Nokia 8 users will also have the option to roll back to Android 7.1 Nougat if the Oreo beta update. “Our growing community of beta testers are the first to receive Android 8.0 Oreo. By testing the software ahead of general release, your feedback will help us create the smoothest and purest Nokia phones experience. To join, all you need is a working Nokia 8,” says the Nokia phones beta labs page. To recall, the Nokia 8 was launched with a metal unibody design featuring a 5.3 inch IPS LCD display with quad HD resolution. The optics on Nokia 8 are handled by dual 13MP rear cameras and a 13MP front-facing camera. The Nokia 8 comes with a Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which is further expandable up to 256GB.
