The Desire 820 was initially announced at the pre IFA 2014 event in early September carrying the highlight of being the first 64 bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset with support for integrated 4G LTE Cat.4 connectivity. The handset is fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat topped with HTC Sense UI and supports dual SIM functionality.

Talking of specifications, the Desire 820 is given a 5.5 inch HD 720p display and employs 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded externally by another 128 GB. There is a 13 MP primary camera with LED flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 lens and an 8 MP front facing selfie camera. The Desire 820q features a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor ticking at 1.2 GHz clock speed paired with Adreno 306 graphics engine and 1 GB of RAM.
