Display and Processor

The Huawei Honor 6 Plus sports a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with a 1920×1080 Full HD resolution resulting in 401 ppi pixel density. On the other hand, the Gionee Elife S7 is given a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD 1080p resolution that will result in a pixel density of 424 ppi. Notably, the Super AMOLED panel will render better contrast and will conserve the battery life effectively. In comparison, the IPS LCD panel will render better viewing angles. Also, the Gionee offering seems to be better as it packs in increased pixel count that will result in better content.

As far as the internals are concerned, the Huawei phone comes with an octa core in-house HiSilicon Kirin 925 that is teamed up with Mali-T628 MP4 and 3 GB of RAM. Going by comparison, the Gionee Elife S7 is equipped with a 1.7 GHz octa core MediaTek MT6752 chipset that is supplemented with Mali-T760MP2 and 2 GB of RAM. The latter supports 64 bit architecture as well.

Camera and Internal Storage

The highlight of the Huawei Honor 6 Plus is its best-in-class camera hardware and it is the first smartphone to feature a bionic parallel dual lens at its back with dual 8 MP main snappers that will provide the fastest focus within 0.1 seconds and depth record panoramic imaging. There is Vision Camera technology and dual camera lens that will get in a large amount of light and twice the light will be captured by the lens. Eventually, the snaps will be clearer and more precise with low light providing a HDR effect. There is an 8 MP front facer as well with Sony BSI sensor, 10 level auto face enhancement and ability to click Panoramic Selfie. In comparison, the Gionee phone is given a 13 MP main snapper at its back with auto focus, LED flahs, panorama, HDR and Full HD 1080p video recording. There is a similar 8 MP seflie snapper onboard the smartphone. The Huawei Honor 6 Plus bundles 32 GB of native storage space that can be expanded further by another 128 GB using a micro SD card. However, the 32 GB of inbuilt memory capacity should be sufficient for most of the users. On the other hand, the Gionee device is packed with 16 GB of internal memory space that cannot be expanded as there is no micro SD expansion card slot.

Battery and Features

The Honor 6 Plus is energized by a 3,600 mAh battery that is teamed up with power saving feature 2.5. The device can render 30 percent efficient battery life and it will last over 2.8 days on normal usage and 1.25 days on intense usage. Also, there is Smart Power battery-saving patented technology that brings a background power consuming process reminder and dynamic power control technology. The Elife S7 is powered by a 2,750 mAh battery with extreme power saver mode that is also like to last over a day under standard usage.

The Huawei phone is based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat platform topped with Emotion UI 3.0, whereas the Gionee Elife S7 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Amigo OS 3.0. The latter is a dual SIM device, and both are packed with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE and GPS with A-GPS. However, the Honor 6 Plus makes use of NFC and Infrared port as well.

Conclusion

Both the Huawei Honor 6 Plus and Gionee Elife S7 are decent offerings in the market. The Huawei flagship appears to be a better smartphone as it comes with expandable storage support, premium and capable camera aspects and a powerful battery with enhanced features that can prolong the battery backup. On the other hand, the Gionee Elife S7 features a better display and other decent aspects.
