Motorcycle Mode on Google Maps is now the fifth navigation mode available in the app. It joins Cars, Public Transport, Walking and Cabs as the fifth alternative. It makes sense that this update has first come to users based in India because Indian streets tend to get more crowded compared to other nations. Thanks to the motorcycle mode, those navigating the streets will now be able to take shorter routes, which might be free of congestion but narrower. These are the roads where cars can’t pass through with ease, but two wheelers many not have any problems. Moreover, Google has likely released this mode in India first because of the fact that there are more two-wheelers in India than anywhere else. This is a mode which was long awaited by bikers all over the world. The motorcycle mode significantly cuts down travel times too – especially in cities like Bangalore and Delhi where roads are congested throughout the day – this is of great use! In addition to showing you quicker ways of reaching your destination, the motorcycle mode also shows you with other relevant information on Google Maps. This includes parking availability, as well as diverted roads. The parking availability feature is a recent addition to Google Maps. Motorcycle Mode is a new feature, but it has been expected for a while. Those who have gone through the code of the beta version of Google Maps would know that such a mode was spotted in the codes for quite some time now. However now that it has begun rolling out, make sure you update your Google Maps to the latest version to get this new feature! Source: Android Police
