Display and Processor

The P81 comes with an IPS display unit of 5.5 inches which has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It has to go up against the 5 inch full HD screen of the Karbonn Titanium Octane Plus which is a way better performer than the Panasonic counterpart. It has good colour reproduction and is way bright and sharp compared to the P81. Both of them are at par with each other in terms of performance. A MediaTek MT6592 chipset with an octa core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and Mali450-MP4 GPU does duty in both the devices and is a pretty capable performers. Its abilities might get restricted a bit because of the 1GB RAM of the P81 but Titanium Octane Plus gets a 2 GB RAM which allows the processor to be used to its maximum potential.

Camera and Internal Storage

The camera unit of the Karbonn Titanium Octane Plus looks like a pretty powerful and capable one on paper. It comes with a 16MP rear camera with OmniVision sensor and an 8MP front camera. It emerges as a better performer against the P81’s 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera unit. The internal storage capacity of the P81 stands at 8GB and can be expanded by another 32GB with the help of a microSD card. The Titanium Octane Plus on the other hand gets an internal storage capacity of 16GB which can also be expanded by another 32GB. We’ll have to give this one to the Titanium Octane Plus.

Battery and Features

The P81 comes with a 2,500 mAh capacity which will have a hard time getting through a day but the things are worse in the case of the Titanium Octane Plus. It has a bettery capacity of 2,000 mAh and seeing the fact that it has to power some pretty powerful specs, it won’t last you more than three quarters of a day. The Titanium Octane Plus runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and the P81 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It has been promised a KitKat update but the timeline of the same is yet unknown. But the P81 comes with an impressive set of gesture controls to make up for that.
