Display and Processor
The Panasonic P81 comes with a 5.5 inch display which has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Going up against it is the 6 inch display unit of the Lenovo S930 which has the same resolution. Seeing the fact that it is a bigger screen with the same resolution, the pixel density will be less. It is a trade off between a bigger screen and pixel density. Ticking at the heart of the P81 is a 1.7 GHz Mediatek Octa core processor that is present inside every other budget octa core smartphone in the country. The S930 has a 1.3 GHz quad core processor again from the stable of Mediatek and despite being a capable unit, it is still no match for its octa core sibling.
Camera and Internal Storage
The camera unit of the P81 comes across as a better one than that of the S930. You get a 13MP snapper at the rear with a flash coupled with a 2MP front camera on the P81. On the other hand, the S930 gets an 8MP snapper at the rear with a flash too and has a 1.6MP front camera teaming up with it. Needless to say, our choice for a better camera device between the two will be the P81. The P81 as well as the S930 are at par with each other when it comes to the storage arena. Both the devices pack in an internal storage capacity of 8GB which can be expanded by another 32GB with the help of a microSD card slot.
Battery and Features
The P81 comes with a battery unit which has been rated at 2,500 mAh which will last you a day on a single charge on moderate usage. The S930 on the other hand gets a 3,000 mAh battery unit which will also last about a day seeing the fact that it has a bigger screen to power. Both of them run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box but the P81 has been promised an Android 4.4 KitKat update too even though the timeline for it hasn’t been given. Both of them have a 1GB RAM.
Key Specs
Price and Conclusion
The P81 has been priced at Rs 18,990 and is available for approx 18,000 INR whereas the S930 is retailing for Rs 17,990 these days. The P81 has a way better set of hardware as well as software specs which the S930 misses out on. Out of the two, the P81 makes a lot more sense.
