The Snapdragon 670 is the successor to last year’s Snapdragon 660 SoC. Qualcomm has adopted highly integrated architectures including the Kryo CPU, Spectra ISP, AI Engine, and X12 LTE modem for better mobile user experiences. Take a look at the features of the new Snapdragon 670 here.
Snapdragon 670 Features
The company has provided the Kryo 360 CPU alongside the Adreno 615 GPU in the Snapdragon 670. This latest iteration of the Kryo CPU utilizes two performance cores (of up to 2.0GHz) and six efficiency cores (of up to 1.7GHz). It is designed to deliver up to 15 percent higher performance than its predecessor.
Further, the SD 670 gets the Snapdragon X12 LTE modem that is said to support download speeds up to 600Mbps and upload speeds up to 150Mbps. For camera performance, it has the Spectra 250 ISP that brings features like noise reduction, image stabilization, and depth sensing and up to 25MP for single camera sensors and 16MP for dual cameras support. The Snapdragon 670 also has the third-generation AI Engine that is touted to offer up to 1.8 times better AI performance while using AI applications. For fast charging, the new SoC has Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ tech which is rated to offer 50 percent of power in 15 minutes. The SoC has also integrated Wi-Fi 802.11ac with Mu-MIMO, Aqstic audio technology/aptX, Bluetooth v5, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and SBAS. The new Snapdragon 670 SoC is currently available for OEMs. The mid-range smartphones with Snapdragon 670 will be available to users sometime later this year.
