For example, you will have trouble adding big tables or images as they will get separated by the page break. Pages also add unnecessary empty space, which can be bad for long documents. If you want a seamless document, then you need to remove the pages to create a pageless document. In this post, I am going to show you how to create a pageless document on Google Docs for desktop and Android.
Create pageless Google Docs document on the desktop
On the desktop, you can either open a new document or start editing an already created one. Once open, click on the “File” menu at the top-left corner and select the “Page setup” option from it.
Here, move to the “Pageless” tab and click on “OK” to remove all pages and turn the document pageless.
This will create a wide document without any pages. It will also automatically open the document outline option on the left side which you can close if you don’t want to use it. You can also change the background color or set these changes as default for all future documents from the same Page setup option.
Create pageless Google Docs document on Android
On the Google Docs mobile app, it’s a bit different to create a pageless document. Below are the steps to enable the pageless option on the Google Docs app: While the document is open, tap on the “Pen icon” at the bottom-right side to start editing it. Now, tap on the three vertical dots menu at the top-right corner and select “Page setup” from it.
Here, enable the toggle button next to the “Pageless” option and your document will become pageless.
For both the desktop and the mobile app, you can undo the changes to get back the document separated into pages. Google Docs will automatically format the document according to the page breaks, which might break tables and images already added.
Wrapping up
I usually don’t need to print Google Docs documents often, so pageless works better; especially due to my need to add lots of images of different sizes. With the above instructions, you’ll be able to easily make documents pageless in Google Docs and won’t have to worry about disrupting document content.
