The Samsung Galaxy A3 is fitted with a metallic 4.5 inch display with 960 x 540 pixel quarter HD resolution and is powered by 1.2 GHz quad core chipset with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. On paper, this is indeed mismatched with high end specs Chinese competition is offering at same prices. On the rear side there is an 8 MP camera for 1080p video recording, flanked by LED flash and speaker on both side. There is a 5 MP selfie camera at the front as well. Galaxy A3 is just 6.9 mm thick and is also extremely light at 110 grams. Other features include a modest 1900 mAh battery, MicroSD card slot, NFC (LTE variant), BT 4.0, WiFi, aGPS and GLONASS.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 on the other hand features a bigger and sharper 5 Inch 720P HD super AMOLED panel, powered by 64 bit Snapdragon 410 quad core chipset with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB expandable internal storage. It has a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording support, coupled with a 5 MP front camera for video recording. Galaxy A5 is marginally slimmer at 6.7 mm and weighs 123 grams. Other features include 4G LTE / 3G, Wi-Fi802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS/ GLONASS, NFC (LTE version only), MicroSD support (64 GB) and 2300 mAh battery. Both of these smartphones are running Android 4.4 Kitkat based TouchWiz UI for now. The specs are not mouth watering, but metal design and Samsung branding will please a lot of buyers in India. Both of these smartphones will be available in India starting from Next week, in Black, White and Gold color variants at 20,500 and 25,500 INR respectively.
