Running on Tizen OS 2.2.1, the Z has impressive specifications under its hood and also features an inbuilt fingerprint sensor and heart rate sensor like in the Galaxy S5. Talking of technical specifications, the Samsung Z flaunts a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display boasting a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and powered by a quad-core processor ticking at 2.3 GHz. This processor is backed by 2 GB of RAM that can handle the multi-tasking department efficiently. Addressing the users’ storage requirements are 16 GB of native storage space and additional storage support up to 64 GB with the help of a micro SD card. The camera set comprises of 8 MP primary snapper with auto focus and LED flash and 2.1 MP front-facer for making video calls. Both these camera support 3D imaging that is impressive. Other goodies include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, MIMO (2×2) and a 2,600 mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving Mode. Besides these features, Samsung claims that the Tizen based Samsung Z will provide faster startup time and will be more efficient in handling multi-tasking. Also, the Ultra Power Saving Mode will allow the users in operating the smartphone even at low battery levels. The handset features a distinctive layout on the home screen and apps that is suggested to provide easy access to the favorite apps and services. The Dynamic Box and Color Theme settings allow users to customize their preferences related to the look of the device. At this point of time, Samsung has not revealed any word regarding the price of the Samsung Z. However, the handset will be showcased at the Tizen Developer Conference scheduled to happen on June 3 in San Francisco.
