Physical Overview
Xolo Era 1x looks like any other typical budget device. It’s build out of plastic but feels sturdy in hand. Back cover and battery is removable, which is a plus. On the front, it has got a 5-inch display with three touch capacitive buttons. Camera and speaker are on the back. Let us take a look at the phone from different angles.
Front Top features a earpiece grill, Proximity, and a 5MP front camera with dual LED flash.
On the bottom there’s are three touch capacitive navigation keys.
Top part consist of a 3.5mm headphone jack port and a micro USB port for charging.
On the left, there is a regular volume up & down button and a power button.
On the back, there is a 8MP autofocus camera with a LED flash.
Speaker is on the bottom of the rear side.
The removable back cover gives you access to the dual-SIM card slot, micro-SD card slot and battery.
Camera Overview
Xolo Era 1x features an 8MP rear camera with a single LED flash and a 5MP front fixed focus camera with dual-LED flash. The rear camera performs decent in daylight condition, nothing great but still reasonably good for the price. I did not expect much from the the camera in dim light. Autofocus is quick in good lighting conditions, although there was some lag in the frame while moving. Tap to focus features struggles sometimes to focus on the subject. Low light photography is below average with lot of noise to the image. Dual LED on the front is more of a gimmick than a feature. But still works for low light selfies.
Display
It sports a 5-inch IPS HD (720p) display with a pixel density of 294ppi. Overall the display is good and sharp. Colours looks natural and you won’t see any pixelation. However the display is very reflective which can be annoying sometimes. Even the viewing angles are not very good, just average.
Gaming And Performance
If you ask me if this phone is good for gaming, then I would first ask you which games do you play. As we already said, it comes with Spreadtrum SC9832A chipset coupled with 1 GB of RAM. This configuration cannot handle high end games or heavy tasks. You cannot expect a great performance from a smartphone that costs just 5k. It is good for basic tasks like surfing, social networking, and more. Also the display makes it good for multimedia on the go.

Conclusion
Overall, it is a nice phone with decent specification and features. The 4G VoLTE support adds some good points to its features and you also get a JIO SIM bundled which is definitely a great point to consider. The phone is solid, light weight and the textured back makes it feel good in hand. It is also one of the rare budget phone which packs a Gyroscope sensor apart from the basic sensors and supports VoLTE. So if you are looking for a budget device below INR 5,000 with 4G LTE support then this device is totally worth buying.
